battletoad

battletoad is a one-of-one original work by CLAW, drawn and painted directly on a repurposed wood panel.

The figure carries the visual memory of arcade imagery, but the object remains unmistakably handmade: raw wood, layered marks, visible surface texture and the CLAW drawing language are all left present. Rather than reproducing a screen image cleanly, the work translates that energy into a physical object whose construction and revisions remain visible.
